SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER
It’s all go at Dirt HQ. We’ve moved out of our various home offices and we are now well and truly encamped in our new office. I say ‘office’ but it seems to have become a bit more of a drop–in centre for the local ‘hillsiders’. Not only do we get a mixed and varied selection of ‘locals’ of the human variety, but also seem to have the odd dog, chicken, badger…you name it, they’ve all been in here. Of course we also have the Dirt pig, but that is on the other side of the hill!
It’s good though, we have riding right out the back door, the 1:04 down the road, a kind of shady looking pump track/set of trails up the road in a field (they’ve got potential)…it is all pretty idyllic really. Of course the weather has not been too kind of late, but that doesn’t really matter that much (for all I know it might be blazing sun by now). And of course riding wise everything is kicking off, we are slap bang in the middle of the summer season, everything is in full swing. School’s out, the trails are in perfect condition and everyone is ‘up for it’. This is the time of the year to take every possible opportunity to ride that comes your way. Make the most of it. - Mike Rose
